You've done it! You've written your novel! You've done what so many others set out to do. Now it's time to take it from good to GREAT! Developmental editing focuses on the big picture of a manuscript, things like structure, pacing, character arcs, clarity, and overall storytelling. Instead of correcting grammar or punctuation, I'll look at how your story works as a whole and help you strengthen the foundation of your novel or nonfiction project. My goal is to help you draft the strongest version of the book you're trying to write.
I enjoy working with emerging and first-time authors who are seeking thoughtful, collaborative feedback. If you're looking for someone who will dig into your manuscript, ask questions, and help you think through revisions, you are in the right place. Whether you're early in the drafting stage or preparing for your next round of revisions, I will provide supportive, constructive guidance.
After you reach out and tell me a little bit about the project you're working on, we'll set up a zoom call to talk about your project and what kind of feedback you're hoping for. From there, I'll have you share a sample of your manuscript (first chapters only) before suggesting the best type of edit. Once we begin, you'll receive detailed editorial feedback and suggestions designed to help you revise confidently while keeping your voice and vision at the center of your work!
